Breckenridge - G.W. “Dub” Funderburg, 89, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Funeral service with Jim Cox officiating will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in Hart Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home.

G.W. was born on March 18, 1925 in Breckenridge to Richard Martin “Mart” Funderburg and Hettie Maude Sharrock Funderburg. He married Ella Ruth Nixon on September 9, 1944 in Breckenridge. He was the owner and operator of oil field pulling units, a veteranof the US Army, and a member of the Elliott Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Riggins and husband, Carl of Breckenridge; grandchildren, Lori Veltman, Carla Warren, Randy Riggins, and Falesha Hudson; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Ronnie Funderburg; grandson, Carl D. Riggins Jr.; brothers, Clarence, John, Reese, and Willard Funderburg; and sisters, Linnie Johnson, Josie Jernigan, Virgie Clein, and Thelma McDonald.
